Samsung made a lot of noise by releasing the S22 Ultra this year. Well, that phone did deserve all the attention it got. Samsung did a lot of things right with the Galaxy S22 Ultra. But can you expect the same with the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra?
The thing is, Samsung is pretty much set to unveil the Galaxy S23 series in the upcoming year. But thanks to rumors and leaks, we have come to know a lot about the device months before it officially unveils. First came the render leak. Then, we had the hardware specs leak, which is basically the one many were perplexed about.
Well, if you are one of them, get ready to get the biggest dose of early confirmation for this year. TENAA certification paperwork for the Galaxy S23 Ultra has just been published! And it confirmed most of the things we heard about the upcoming flagship.
Samsung S23 Ultra TENAA Listing
So, TENNA listing is basically a certification of the Chinese regulatory body. It is mandatory for brands to get this certification if they want to sell their devices in the country. And the good news is that TENNA listings are publicly visible! That means you can see all the things that the brands list in the certification. So, what does the TENAA listing of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra disclose?
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is now almost certain to come with a 200 MP primary camera. It is also set to come with three other rear sensors, including one 10 MP telephoto, a 12 MP ultrawide, and another 10 MP telephoto.
Why would the S23 Ultra require two of the same telephoto cameras? Well, they are not the same. One of them is capable of 3X optical zoom, while the other is capable of 10X optical zoom.
But the thing is, the TENAA listing notes that the telephoto shooters are actually 12 MP units. And according to SamMobile, this might be due to Samsung upscaling 10 MP to 12 MP.
Nonetheless, in short, the main selling point of Ultra Galaxy phones still continues with the S23 Ultra. That is, its massive optical zoom capabilities.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the listing, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is set to come with an octa-core SoC. Its fastest core is capped at 3.36 GHz. In addition, there is another two-core cluster, which is limited to 2.8 GHz. All the others are limited to 2 GHz.
All these pieces of info regarding the phone’s SoC suggest that the S23 Ultra might come with a customized version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will come with a typical array of modern smartphone sensors. That includes an in-display fingerprint sensor. Although, the listing did not confirm whether the fingerprint sensor will be larger than the ones we usually see in smartphones these days.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Display and Other Specs
The documentation revealed a presence of a 6.8-inch QHD+ display. This display sports a resolution of 3088 x 1440 pixels, which is plenty for a 6.8-inch display. Also, there’s 5G connectivity and an option between 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM. What about storage?
Well, according to the listing, the S23 Ultra will offer 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB internal storage space options. Also, the listing suggests that the S23 Ultra should be 233g in weight, come with a 4855 mAh battery, and measure 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm.
The sad part is that the database did not offer any info regarding Samsung’s choice of materials. It did not even give anything away about the color options and software features that are unique to the smartphone. And according to rumors, we might have to wait until February to get more info about the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
