Of @Memphis Grizzlies 2022 concept work almost done, they added 3 wings (LaRavia, Roddy, Williams) and a backup PG (Chandler). The night also included a proposal to send Melton to Philadelphia for Danny Green. All in a productive night shift for this shift. † 12:09 pm

Tonight – from Memphis for Danny Green and #23
2018 – To Phoenix (with Ryan Anderson) for Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss
League sources say the Suns exec in that deal was ‘brilliant + devastatingly handsome’

Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, Patrick Beverley, Kyle Korver, Andre Iguodala, maybe Danny Green… I’m sure I’m forgetting a few others from Zach Kleiman’s salary dump with recognizable names acquired by the Grizzlies who never used to be for the Grizzlies in the past played for a few years. † 22:37

#NBA Story: The #Sixers Trade No. 23 Pick and Danny Green for #Grizzlies’ Guard De’Anthony Melton: #76ers

Don’t get carried away by the Danny Green shot. He will miss most of the season and has been greatly reduced, it’s brand awareness and salary filler rather than an impactful shot. There’s a chance of a wind after 35 seconds, but little to suggest it’s coming. † 22:26

Sixers have to send an outgoing paycheck to Memphis, which I believe is Danny Green? Should guarantee it though unless other shenanigans are in the works. † 22:21

Adding Melton’s contract ($8.25 million this year, $8 million next year) in place of Green’s non-GTD deal makes using the non-taxpayer MLE virtually impossible. That’s a nice trade-off, but worth mentioning.
It also means Danny Green gets his $, which is nice to see after the injury. † 10:20 PM

Shams Charania: Sources: 76ers moved Danny Green and No. 23 to Memphis as part of the trade to take over Melton. -through Twitter @ShamsCharania / June 23, 2022

The team’s interest in Tucker appears to be real. Finances get a little complicated when you consider the Sixers’ cap situation and the fact that Tucker is reportedly waiving his $7.35 million player option with the Heat for the 2022-23 season. The idea that the Sixers could move Thybulle and/or Green to create space to sign Tucker is not the case, according to a source. The team still considers Thybulle a player of value, and, as The PhillyVoice’s Kyle Neubeck previously reported, they will not be giving away the two-time All-Defensive Team player. -via / June 23, 2022

The Sixers also shop Shake Milton, Furkan Korkmaz and Danny Green. -via The Philadelphia Inquirer / June 22, 2022
