Adding Melton’s contract ($8.25 million this year, $8 million next year) in place of Green’s non-GTD deal makes using the non-taxpayer MLE virtually impossible. That’s a nice trade-off, but worth mentioning.

The team’s interest in Tucker appears to be real. Finances get a little complicated when you consider the Sixers’ cap situation and the fact that Tucker is reportedly waiving his $7.35 million player option with the Heat for the 2022-23 season. The idea that the Sixers could move Thybulle and/or Green to create space to sign Tucker is not the case, according to a source.
